Great Scot! Kia scoops three at annual Scottish Car of the Year Awards
- All-new Kia Sportage wins ‘Family SUV of the Year’ and ‘Best Full Hybrid’
- EV6 named ‘Best EV over £40,000’
- Kia repeats its triple win from 2019 awards
Once again, Kia UK Limited has found great success at the annual Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) Awards, collecting a trinity of awards for the all-new Sportage and EV6.
Voted for by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW), the SCOTY Awards celebrate the best of the automotive industry and recognise the stand-out models of the year. Kia has had previous success at the awards, winning with both ProCeed and Sportage in 2019.
The all-new Sportage collected the awards for ‘Family SUV of the Year’ and ‘Best Full Hybrid’, impressing the ASMW as a standout model in the heavily populated SUV market. Launched at the start of 2022, the all-new Sportage is available with a range of electrified powertrains and has already become Kia’s best-selling model in the UK year-to-date.
ASMW President Jack McKeown said: “The family SUV sector is hugely crowded but the Kia Sportage manages to stand out from the pack. Dynamic looks, plenty of space and a great range of powertrain options are among its many strengths.”

As well as the all-new Sportage, the EV6 continued to add to its impressive resumé of honours, winning the SCOTY award for ‘Best EV over £40,000’. McKeown commented: “Stunning looks, superb range, super-fast charging, outstanding practicality and – in the fastest versions – astonishing acceleration are among the many reasons the Kia EV6 was a runaway winner. Kia’s flagship electric car really is something special.”

We recently purchased a car, sight-unseen, from Premier Isuzu & Select Used Cars Manchester. I dealt with a very competent, polite & professional sales chap, called Jourdan. Figures were agreed, finance signed & sealed and the car delivered to us, free of charge ! Based 200 miles away & purchasing an expensive car without viewing first is always a concern, especially when doing it for the first time ! Such is the modern, click & collect world, I suppose. Jourdan was transparent, open and honest throughout, answering all of our questions and making us feel completely at ease. On arrival, the car really did exceed our expectations. It was prepared & presented to a very high standard, as promised, and all paperwork was present & correct. Highly commend Jourdan for a sterling job, his hard work & efficiency. Thank you. KIA SPORTAGE FROM ROCHDALE BRANCH
I contacted this Kia branch on Thursday1st of March, I had seen a Sportage on their website, the gentleman I spoke with was Charley Murton. He explained the car was a former demonstrator, I had been surprised to see a latest generation Sportage for sale so soon. I explained I wished to part exchange my current vehicle against a prospective purchase. I went to the dealership the following Tuesday, Charley was very welcoming and offered me a coffee, I needed it after having been at the mercy of a satnav for over an hour. He made me a very welcome offer on my vehicle and then we went for a test drive. Loved the car straight away. The negotiations were done professionally and efficiently, he then sorted out delivery to my home the following day, amazingly quickly. I have contacted him a couple of times since with a few questions he has continued to be extremely helpful each time. I am very impressed with this dealership and Charley in particular. A note to Charley your directions to get me home we’re spot on no need for the satnav and a half hour quicker!!

From start to finish our experience of Premier Automobiles excellent. Our salesman Neil was professional, friendly and helpful and he made the buying experience easy.
